Agronomist – Saskatoon, SK

GroWest Ag Ventures is an independent agronomy consulting and third party research company based in West Central Saskatchewan.

Currently, our main areas of business are;

1. We provide the full spectrum of agronomy services to our customers. We provide services ranging from VR prescriptions to scouting to seed/tissue/soil sampling, etc.
2. We are the exclusive supplier to The Discovery Farm, home of Ag In Motion, demonstration research clients. We are proud to work with some of the largest and most advanced industry leaders. While getting to see all of the innovative and new technology at Ag in Motion.
3. We have an extensive on farm replicated research program. We conduct trials on behalf of chemical, fertilizer, or soil amendment companies. We get to work with new products that will increase yields, grain quality, or address a unique situation within that specific area. We have completed a number of single and multi-year trials. The results from these trials have made a difference in some of the decisions that our clients make on their farm.  

Our trade area currently servicing clients all across Saskatchewan. With our boots on the ground approach, you can guarantee that you will increase your knowledge in the field while getting to work with the latest and best technology that the Ag Industry has to offer. 

We are looking to hire a full-time Agronomist based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

In this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Providing agronomic, innovative, and economical advice to their customers.
• Scouting, soil sampling, and tissue testing.
• Conducting farm specific crop plans, fertility plans, and agronomic trials.
• Implementing 3^rd party replicated research trials.
• Ability to promote agronomy services and products from GroWest’s suppliers.
• Helping with the installation of hardware in fields.
• Building customer relationships.

This person must be passionate about Agriculture and truly want to help farmers succeed. We are looking for a self-starter who can manage their time effectively. This role requires drive, innovative thinking, and a sense of accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ Years of Agronomy experience.
• PAg or CCA designations would be considered an asset.
• Valid Driver’s License and the ability to provide a drivers abstract.
